Remote Deposit of Checks – A Convenient, Easy Time-Saver for Individuals and Businesses

Even as we move more and more toward a paperless world, most of us, as individuals or businesses, still receive paper checks.  Whether it is a paycheck, a gift check, a refund check, or a check for payment from a customer, typically it means a trip to the bank to deposit the check.  Now with Mobile Deposit or Remote Deposit Capture from JBT you can deposit your checks without going to the bank.

What Is Remote Deposit Capture?

JBT’s Mobile Deposit Capture (individuals or businesses) and Remote Deposit Capture (businesses) uses technology to enable you to deposit checks using electronic images instead of the original paper check. JBT customers can make deposits through their smart phone or tablet, while businesses can also use a small desktop scanner.

Depositing Checks

So how exactly do you make a deposit remotely? JBT can accept checks for deposit using electronic images instead of the original, paper check. Simply endorse the check with your signature on the back of the check and write “For Remote/Mobile Deposit Only – Jonestown Bank & Trust Co.” Then, take a picture of both sides of the check or scan both sides of the check and submit it to JBT using JBT’s app on your tablet or smart phone. Businesses can also scan checks and deposit paper checks using a small desktop scanner attached to an internet-connected Windows®-based PC.

Benefits

The benefits of Mobile Deposit and Remote Deposit Capture include being able to capture check images from virtually anywhere to be deposited into your JBT checking, savings, and money market accounts. In addition, you can deposit checks 24/7 when it’s most convenient for you, not just during regular banking hours.
