The Compliance and Loan Review Specialist I on the Compliance aspect is responsible for assisting in the general compliance functions of the bank by performing monitoring procedures, identifying discrepancies between regulation and/or bank policy and actual practice, reviewing compliance as part of loan review functions and preparing reports of compliance findings. This position has a wide range of duties including but not limited to assisting the Compliance Review Officer develop, maintain and implement a comprehensive compliance management system, compile compliance related information for auditors and bank examiners, and monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations within operational areas to ensure compliance with banking regulations, such as but not limited to HDMA data integrity.

The Loan Review responsibilities are to review consumer loans for adherence to bank policy, accuracy in underwriting and booking, appropriateness of loan documentation, and compliance with regulations, working with external service provider to compile data needed for outsourced commercial loan review functions, preparing reports of findings. The duties include but are not limited to report findings to Compliance and Loan Review Officer and assist in preparations of memos or reports to senior management, assign risk rating codes and maintain work papers on loan reviewed, and coordinate commercial loan reviews with external service provider, including scheduling, scope of work, and providing electronic files.

Candidates for this position should have a comprehension of bank policies and terminology, and have strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in compliance, lending, or other relevant banking experience
  • Ability to successfully handle confidential materials, exercise discretion, and independent judgement
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and proficiency MS Word, Excel, and Outlook applications
